Dreaming of You (2008)

Tonight I recorded a new version of Dreaming of You.

I've always really liked this song, which I wrote when I was 17 years old.  But the recording I had was old (1996) and very poor quality.  So tonight, I decided I'd re-record it.  I tracked the instruments surprisingly fast, and recorded the vocals after the kids went to bed.

While the song was inspired by my girlfriend that left me when I was 17, it really has more to do with the emotional state I was in at the time, not the event itself, and certainly not the girl.  The "girl" in the song represents love and security.  Be it family, friends, or otherwise.  The loss of that "girl" represents the rejection and hurt that I felt as a teen living in foster care.

Deep, huh?  ;)

Well, hope you enjoy the new recording, anyways.
